Grand Knight’s Letter to Council April 2019
Council #13001 Blog * Written by MN Knights
Brother Knights and Families,
Greetings and Happy Easter to all you. This is the most special time of the year when we remember our Lord’s passion and sacrifice on the cross for the remission of our sins. This is the time we recall our failings, ask for our Lord’s forgiveness, repent, amend our fallen ways and live more closely with our Lord. I hope you will participate in all of the sacraments being offered during Holy Week and on Easter Sunday and throughout the year.
Thanks to all of my brothers who helped with the 40 Cans for Lent. We collected over 1500 lbs. of food and money for CEAP. The collection is so important to those who struggle to feed their families.
All of you really shined during Hospitality weekend. Not only did we provide hospitality for our parish, we were present in all of the liturgies. This undoubtedly helped encourage several men to become members of our Order. We had a successful Church Membership Drive. We will be bringing in several new members as a result of your efforts. Fr. Tom and Fr. Tuan shared messages of encouragement to men in our parish to become members. Thank you!
We will be contacting everyone soon regarding the Tootsie Roll Drive coming up on April 26 and 27. Also, we will be selling Metro Dining Club Cards in the Gathering Space that weekend and throughout May. Encourage family and friends to purchase them. Even if you go a few times a year for dinner and use the cards, the cards will pay for themselves. We will also be participating in the Robbinsdale Walk for Life in May and grill food for the participants.
Consider becoming an officer, director or an activity chairman. We will be taking nominations for officer positions at our April meeting. Elections will be in May. To be an officer you must be a 3rd degree knight in good standing with the Order. The director and activity chairmen are appointed positions by the Grand Knight. You do not have to be a 3rd degree knight for these positions. Help your council succeed by coming to our council meeting on April 16 and commit to help your council wherever you can.
