About Our Council
The St. Gerard council was founded in 2001 through the efforts of a parish group known as ‘The Men of St. Gerard.’ They determined that there would be many advantages and benefits to converting this group into a Knights of Columbus Council.
Although the Council was named after the parish where it is based, St. Gerard Majella would have been an ideal Knight. He was born in Italy in 1726 and lived a relatively short life of only 29 years. He is called the Patron Saint of mothers as a result of his help given to mothers and their families. He was a very religious person. He was known for his charity work and fundraising efforts.
